Course description:
Color Strategies will examine the study of traditional color theory in depth, along with modernist color applications. The basic text sources for the course are Johannes Itten’s The Elements of Color, and Joseph Albers’ The Interaction of Color. Many of the color exercises taught at the Bauhaus will be a foundation of the course. The students will be able to orient their color thinking towards their major area of study throughout the semester. This course or its equivalent is a prerequisite for Beginning Painting.
