Prerequisite: none Course number: HUM 289 Course description: Once a week students and faculty will meet to discuss topics of interest in Contemporary art and Italian Culture .
Students and faculty meet for this special workshop meant to stimulate discussion on various aspects of art and culture. These meetings are intended to help provide a community where students can share their ideas and listen to the ideas of others. We encourage students to suggest seminar topics, participate in talks and coordinate evening discussions. There will also be evenings where students see an opera or watch a film that relates to topics addressed during the workshops. The course entails watching videos and films, visiting contemporary art museums, embarking on walking tours of the city, and enjoying gatherings that celebrate Florence’s artistic and cultural treasures.
