Italian Language
Prerequisite: Intermediate Italian or the successful completion of an entrance exam given at the beginning of the semester.

Course description:

This is a course for students who have completed two semesters of Italian Language, and who are interested in further developing their grammatical proficiency, pronunciation and reading comprehension. The course is a full emersion course where class lessons are taught in Italian from the first day, exposing students immediately to the language and developing the student’s listening and speaking skills. The course will focus on reading, vocabulary, grammar, written composition as well as conversation. Note: For students entering in advanced levels an exam is necessary to place the student in an appropriate level. 
Meet the Faculty: Prof. Matilde Zampi
prof. M. Zampi
Dr. Matilde Zampi was born in Montepulciano (SI), Italy.  She received a Laurea cum Laude degree in Humanities with a major in History in 1989 and her Master degree in Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History in 1992 from the University of Florence. She received her Ph.D. in History of European Society at the University of Pisa in 1997 with a thesis on A Spanish Governor in Milan in 1573 - 1580. She has published critical essays in the historical magazine Accademia Borromaica.
