Francesca Tonini was born in Florence in 1973. She received a Laurea in Humanities with a major in Etruscology at the University of Florence in 2000, and she spent seven years working as an archeologist for the University of Florence in the archeological site near Lake Accesa, Massa Marittima near Grosseto in Tuscany.

From 2004 to 2005 she attended a school of specialization to teach at the high school level in Italian state schools, and she is certified to teach Italian, History, Geography, Latin and Greek. Currently she teaches Italian literature and language classes to American students at Santa Reparata International School of Art. She also teaches Classics (Latin and Greek language and literature) and Italian Literature and history classes in private Italian high schools.
