Chiara Verri was born in Monselice,
Italy in 1973. She received a Laurea with a major in Medieval Latin
Literature at the University of Florence. During university she obtained
a grant to study at Paris X Université (Nanterre, Paris). After
her degree she obtained a one-year grant to study at Heidelberg University
in Germany. She successfully completed the national qualifying exam
to obtain certification to teach Italian and Latin language and literature,
History and Geography in Italian Secondary State Schools. She received a PhD in “Culture of the Roman-barbaric age”, at the University of Macerata with a thesis on Medieval Latin Literature, working particularly on Carolingian Latin Literature. She regularly visited the National Library of France in Paris doing research. She has taught at a variety of language schools in Florence, including the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri at the University of Florence. Currently she is Professor of Italian and Latin
Language and Literature, History and Geography at Liceo Scientifico
I. Newton in Florence, and she teaches Italian language classes to American
students at Santa Reparata International School of Art. |
